چکیده

Abstract This article presents the experimental charging and discharging characteristics of two organic phase change materials (PCMs) for application cold thermal energy storage. Lauryl alcohol butyl stearate were encapsulated in rectangular encapsulation study was carried out vapor compression refrigeration system. The experiment also conducted different masses PCMs result showed that lauryl shows stable with less temperature variation 3.5°C during which is not evidenced stearate. Also, duration more than due to its high density. discharge occurs times time Both produced cooling inside chamber but comparatively advances real‐time performance recommended storage applications.

Application of Phase Change Materials and Pcm-slurries for Thermal Energy Storage

The idea to use phase change materials (PCM) for the purpose of storing thermal energy is to make use of the latent heat of a phase change, usually between the solid and the liquid state. Since a phase change involves a large amount of latent energy at small temperature changes, PCMs are used for temperature stabilization and for storing heat with large energy densities in combination with rath...

Microencapsulation of Butyl Stearate as Phase Change Material by Melamine Formaldehyde Shell for Thermal Energy Storage

Butyl stearate as a phase change material was microencapsulated within melamine-formaldehyde resin using emulsion polymerization. Morphology and thermal specification of produced microcapsules were studied by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, FT-IR, scanning electron microscopy, SEM, and Differential scanning calorimetry analysis, DSC. FT-IR spectra validated the existence of the butyl s...

Experimental Studies on Phase Change Material-Based Thermal Energy Storage System for Solar Water Heating Applications

Abundantly available solar energy utilization for domestic and industrial applications is hindered because of its intermittent nature. The thermal energy storage (TES) system using both sensible and latent heat has many advantages like large heat storage capacity in a unit volume and its isothermal behavior during the charging and discharging processes. Because of these advantages, in recent ye...
